WE WANT TO GO HOME-PUPILS OF ACCRA GIRLS SHS
ANN : JULY 7, 2020
After a joint statement by the Ghana Education Service and Ghana Health Service confirming six students, a teacher and spouse at Accra Girls’ Senior High School having tested positive for coronavirus, Parents and guardians trooped to the school early hours of monday to withdraw their wards following the statement; barely a week after the school reopened for final year students.
In this regard FAPEMSO one of the hard hitting socio-political program on tv, hosted by C.O Sly once again descended heavily on the government for not testing these children before resumption of school to allow final year students take their WASSCE and BECE examinations.
C.O Sly also advocated for mass testing throughout the country since these children might have been infected in their various communities before the President’s directive for them to return to school.
FAPEMSO also chastised the school and the Education ministry for not putting proper measures in place to help curtail the spread of the virus after students were seen chanting “we want to go home" without adhering to the social distancing rule.
